Electrical Detailer

Job description:

We are looking for a motivated individual to assist in our electrical pre-construction department. In this position you will report directly to and be trained by our pre-construction manager. This department is responsible for reviewing electrical construction plans from all of our departments, re-drawing them in a manner that is simple to follow, evaluating cost savings opportunities, designing methods for pre-building portions of the project in our warehouse, and doing material takeoffs. There is an opportunity to learn but we are looking for someone with electrical construction experience or electrical design/engineering experience of some kind. Willingness, interest, and a desire to learn are a must for this position. The right candidate will have an excellent opportunity to be involved in an important and engaging stage of electrical construction. You will be introduced to a vast diversity of projects, and the opportunity for growth and increased responsibility within our company is limited only by your ability to learn, adapt, and produce.

Scope of work:

· Use computer programs to clean up blueprints, prepare them for redesign, and re-draw/3D model blueprints as directed

· Compile information from various sources and incorporate into new, easy to follow drawings

· Take accurate counts of electrical materials and equipment from electrical drawings with guidance

· Create spreadsheets and lists from information on electrical drawings and other various sources

· Create the detailed drawings required for pre-fabrication

· Coordinate with project management, prefab, and field Management to implement pre-construction designs into the field

· Ensure accuracy in design and that all applicable codes and standards are met.

Ideal Candidate:

· Strong interest in technical design

· Motivation to learn new skills

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Proficient in use of basic computer skills and programs

· Basic knowledge of Auto CAD/Revit
