Electrical Distribution O&M Maintenance Section Head

Overall Purpose of the Job:


The Distribution O&M Manager oversees the operations and maintenance teams in Distribution operational projects. His/her goal is creating standard operating procedures and documenting all Distribution O&M activities. He/ She must also manage the handover process of new projects for their owners and EPCs. The O&M Manager is liable over his department budget, maintenance and interventions records as well as full implementation of operational excellence system to guarantee sustainable operation, cost driven and maximizing yield.


Primary Tasks:


  1. Essential:


  • Manage day to day operations of all generation sites on-grid and off-grid.
  • Propose and implement performance KPIs for distribution O&M teams
  • Propose and implement development plans for distribution O&M teams
  • Provide monthly reports including technical performance, actual spending, maintenance plans coverage, breakdowns analysis and action plans.
  • With the distribution O&M Team, analyze technical performance and corrective maintenance to generate, plan and update preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • In Coordination with QA, maintain updated an quality manual, procedures and records of all operations and maintenance activities.
  • Run all preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on time in full and with complete records and documentation.
  • Implement and update handover protocols for new projects prior to operations start.
  • Prepare manpower plans, interview, recruit and build robust O&M teams for existing and new sites.
  • Coordinate with procurement and legal teams the drafting, implementation, review and update of intercompany distribution O&M contracts.
  • Coordinate with procurement and legal teams the drafting, implementation, review and update of external third parties maintenance contracts.
  • Coordinate with the EPC teams early equipment management requirements to help develop new projects.
  • Prepare yearly and half year budgets, control and monitor spending.
  • Allocate and relocate all necessary O&M resources as required between different sites.
  • Following up and coordinating with procurement team the purchases of new materials and supplies.
  • Coordinate and perform safety tours with HSE manager.
  • Coordinate with the HR department hiring plans for new projects.
  • Develop and maintain operational excellence in distribution O&M management


  1. Additional:


  • Engage with distribution technical office on future plans, commissioning and operation handover
  • Support CTO with CAPEX and OPEX optimization plans


Educational background, Skills and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical or renewable energy engineering
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Technical understanding of the Power generation and basic distribution technology
  • High level understanding of the commercial scope of O&M Business.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills is a must.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with the different internal departments.
  • Strong communication skills to maintain strong relationship with clients and developers.
  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills while keeping the ability to analyze the wider picture
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
