An Electronic & Electrical Purchase Engineer manages the procurement of electronic and electrical components, materials, and equipment by sourcing vendors, negotiating costs and contracts, processing requisitions, maintaining records, and ensuring purchased items meet technical, quality, and project requirements. Key responsibilities include evaluating suppliers, collaborating with design engineers on specifications, tracking vendor performance, managing inventory, and utilizing ERP systems for record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and develop new vendors and suppliers for electronic and electrical components and materials.
- Technical & Commercial Support: Provide technical support during procurement, assess vendor bids, and collect both technical and commercial information from suppliers to ensure requirements are met.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-efficiency and quality standards.
- Procurement Process: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including processing purchase requisitions, generating purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure that all procured items meet the necessary technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory compliance for electronic and electrical systems.
- Inventory & Records Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels and keep accurate purchase records using ERP or other procurement software systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers to understand project requirements and ensure purchased materials align with product specifications.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and track vendor performance regarding quality, delivery, and overall reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, components, and materials is essential.
- Engineering Background: Often requires a degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Procurement Expertise: Knowledge of procurement processes, including vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
- ERP/Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using ERP systems and other procurement software for record-keeping and management.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with vendors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze requirements, identify issues, and develop effective solutions in a procurement context.
- BOM & Documentation: Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other technical specifications.
