Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, and test electrical systems and controls for HVAC manufacturing, with a primary focus on electrical starter and control panel design, switchboard fabrication, and plant facility oversight. This role will also oversee DDC controller-based hardware and software configurations, ensure compliance with industry standards, and provide technical support to cross-functional teams. The position requires strong electrical engineering knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and experience with control systems in HVAC applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical starter and control panels, including switchboard fabrication and oversight of manufacturing plant electrical systems.
- Program and configure DDC controller-based hardware and software, ensuring accurate operation sequences for chiller, airside, and package units.
- Prepare design documents, including electrical data, schematics, operation manuals, and technical specifications for new and existing product platforms.
- Review factory orders for compliance with customer requirements, applicable standards, and sound engineering principles.
- Support the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical panels and control systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOM), purchased part specifications, and documentation for special projects and highly customized HVAC products.
- Collaborate with Sales/Marketing, Warranty Service, Quality Control, and Production departments to resolve technical issues and support product development.
- Assist Purchasing with sourcing components and evaluating vendor quality to ensure reliable electrical system performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical system issues.
Train and provide guidance to technicians and production staff on electrical systems, control sequences, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 1–2 years of experience in electrical engineering within HVAC or manufacturing environments; experience with PLC/DDC programming is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, control systems, and HVAC-specific applications.
- Familiarity with product safety certification processes (ETL, AHRI) is an advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office and engineering documentation software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proactive and innovative approach to engineering challenges.
