We are looking to hire an Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, with experience integrating PLC Controls into industrial equipment. The candidate would be heavily involved in learning the existing product line and developing new, upgraded, and custom equipment. This position will be a hands-on role where they are responsible for the design, construction, and testing of new systems and custom applications.

Job Duties

  • Electronic Controls Design & Development
  • PLC and HMI programming for new thermal spray systems and components.
  • Electronic/controls debug and startup of in-house equipment and custom projects.
  • Creation of technical product manual, schematics, and other support documentation.
  • Ensure systems and components comply with all pertinent industry design codes and standards.
  • System Validation Support and Troubleshooting
  • Support service group on any customer issues as it relates to electronic/HMI function.
  • Assist and support of new system installation and training on-site at customers facilities.
  • Interface with customers to specify equipment and resolve operational issues.
  • Project Management
  • Work to project timelines and follow phase gate process for assigned projects.
  • Identify/develop/manage outside vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering/related field or proven related work experience.
  • PLC and HMI programming
  • Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Hands-on experience in system integration and troubleshooting.
  • Self-starter with ability to work on cross-departmental teams

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical design and automation
  • Experience with HMIs and PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Industry experience in thermal spray or other industrial equipment that interfaces with multiple process components (ie. Manipulation, e-stop chain, etc.)
  • Robot programming, calibration, and integration experience
  • Designing and testing to 3 party standards (UL / CE)
  • Working knowledge of power supply systems
  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
