POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Engineer is a dedicated, experienced engineer whose primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality and compliance of MEP/ Electrical designs. In this role you will collaborate with the architecture and design teams, review and analyze design documents, perform quality control checks, and contribute to the overall success of our projects. The Electrical Engineer possesses a strong attention to detail and extensive knowledge of building system design, preferably electrical and fire alarm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and Assess Designs
- Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of the designs
- Ensure effective coordination and integration between the engineering designs and the architectural and engineering construction documents
- Provide expert advice and guidance to project teams
- Prepare detailed reports highlighting deficiencies, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities in the reviewed designs.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other team members to foster interdisciplinary coordination and maintain effective communication channels
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal quality assurance processes, standards, and guidelines
- Support the firm's vision of building an engineering practice by actively participating in business development initiatives, fostering relationships with clients and consultants, and exploring potential expansion opportunities
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- A professional license (PE) in engineering is preferred
- 4+ years of experience working as an electrical engineer
- Strong knowledge of electrical and fire alarm systems designs, codes, and standards, preferably in the context of public schools
- Proven ability to identify and resolve coordination issues
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a strategic mindset to contribute to the growth and development of the team
- Proficiency in producing designs relevant to electrical engineering, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
- Perform calculations such as short circuit analysis, lighting calculations, load calculation, conductor and circuit sizing, voltage drop, harmonic analysis, etc.
