Job Title: Electrical Site Engineer (For MEP Construction company)

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing all electrical engineering aspects of construction projects, including planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. The role ensures that all electrical works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site electrical installation activities.

· Supervise and manage site electrical labor teams to ensure proper installation and workmanship.

· Allocate daily tasks to electricians and helpers, ensuring efficient use of manpower and resources.

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure compliance with design requirements.
• Monitor progress and quality of electrical work and ensure adherence to project timelines and safety standards.
• Monitor on-site electrical activities, including conduit installation, cable pulling, panel board installation, lighting, and power systems.
• Ensure all electrical installations are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards
• Oversee the installation of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication, and other low current systems.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical and engineering issues related to electrical systems.
• Liaise with consultants, architects, civil engineers, and other project stakeholders to resolve design and integration issues.
• Prepare and review technical submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with the site foreman and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution.
• Inspect work progress and quality, addressing any deficiencies or non-conformities immediately.
• Maintain daily site reports, manpower records, and progress logs.
• Conduct toolbox talks and enforce safety procedures to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
• Assist in resolving site-related technical issues in coordination with the design and QA/QC teams.
• Support testing and pre-commissioning of electrical systems under supervision of senior engineers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in MEP or building electrical systems construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, installation, and safety procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, and MS Office; knowledge of project planning tools
• Familiar with electrical codes and standards such as NEC, IEC, and NFPA.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, or industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and coordination.
• Certification in electrical safety or PMP is an advantage.
