Job Description

Vertex Engineering Consultancy LLC is looking for a highly experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Oil & Gas projects. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably with Gulf (GCC) experience, and hands-on involvement with major Omani Oil & Gas operators and EPC companies.

Candidates with experience working on brownfield, greenfield, wellhead, flowline, OHL, substations, and field modification works are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed electrical design and engineering for Oil & Gas facilities.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, load lists, cable sizing, earthing/lightning design, equipment selection, and engineering deliverables.
• Review vendor documents, engineering drawings, construction packages, and material specifications.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct site visits, prepare as-built documentation, and support construction/commissioning teams when required.
• Ensure compliance with Oman Oil & Gas standards (PDO SPs, OQ GN standards, IEC, IEEE, NEC, IP codes, etc.).
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and method statements.
• Participate in project meetings, technical discussions, and client interactions.

Required Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Wellhead & Production Facilities – including ESP/PCP installations, WHCP interfaces, surface facilities, and brownfield tie-ins.
• Pipeline & Flowline Electrical Systems – cathodic protection, valve automation packages, FO/telecom integration, and ESD system interfaces.
• Plant Substations, MCC & LV/MV Switchgear – design, protection coordination, relay settings, power distribution, and equipment specification.
• Overhead Line (OHL) Systems – plant feeder lines, 11 kV/33 kV overhead distribution, and field power supply networks.
• Electrical Load Analysis & Protection Studies – short-circuit studies, motor starting analysis, transformer sizing, load lists, and protection philosophies for oil & gas process plants.
• Hazardous Area Classification (ATEX/IECEx) – equipment selection, zoning for plant process units, and compliance with HC gas and vapor classifications.
• Experience working with Oman-based clients (preferred):
