Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas engineering sector. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in electrical design, engineering documentation, and industrial power systems. This role involves working on engineering deliverables such as switchboards, distribution boards, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and lighting systems, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

The candidate must be proficient in engineering software tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, Dialux, AVEVA, and E3D, and be willing to work from our Chennai office.

Roles and Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

• Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematic drawings, block diagrams, and wiring drawings for oil & gas projects.
• Prepare and update Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Equipment Layouts, and Electrical General Arrangement drawings.
• Design and specify Switchboards, Distribution Boards, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and other LV electrical equipment.
• Perform lighting calculations and prepare lighting layout drawings using Dialux or equivalent tools.
• Ensure compliance with relevant IEC, IS, API, and oil & gas industry standards.

Documentation & Deliverables

• Prepare engineering deliverables including datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor documents for electrical equipment and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Maintain accurate and updated project documentation throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Software Tools & Modeling

• Create and modify electrical drawings using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
• Work with AVEVA E3D for 3D model review, cable routing, and equipment placement.
• Use Dialux for lighting design and illumination studies.

Project Coordination

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, instrumentation, civil, and process engineering.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, model reviews, and client meetings.
• Support construction teams by providing technical clarifications and resolving site queries.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all engineering work meets project quality standards and safety requirements.
• Follow internal engineering procedures, workflows, and document control processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Switchboards & Distribution Boards
• SLDs, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams
• Load Lists, Cable Schedules
• Lighting Calculations
• Proficiency in:
• EPLAN
• AutoCAD
• Dialux
• AVEVA / E3D
• Good understanding of international electrical standards (IEC, IS, NEC, etc.).
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in Chennai.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Experience with offshore or onshore oil & gas projects.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification and equipment selection.
• Familiarity with power system studies (ETAP, SKM, etc.).
• Experience in preparing technical reports and client presentations.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
