My Client is looking to hire a Hands On, a Motivated and Detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Electrical Engineering, this role is integral to the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for our mission-critical projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in power systems and be eager to grow their expertise in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Job Purpose

The Electrical Engineer is a client facing role requiring the ability to inspire confidence from initial client inquiry to proposal preparation, engineering design and installation and project execution. The Electrical Engineer leads all aspects of electrical systems design in a collaborative high performance team environment to accomplish the successful completion of assigned projects.

KEY FUNCTIONS

1. Develop scopes of work from the feed of business development efforts through design,

engineering, construction & commissioning.

2. Perform engineering design calculations related to load flow, power system protection, arc flash, short-circuit analysis, generators, control systems, and design verification.

3. Develop Company’s reputation as an electrical engineering thought leader, in complex

technical projects; as perceived by the client.

4. Own the engineering design and influence the client in their design requests to provide

solutions that meet the client’s existing and future needs.

5. Embed ‘lessons learned’ into each new project through collaboration with our construction and operations teams so that each consecutive project is delivered better than the last.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The following is an overview of the responsibilities this position but does not represent the full breadth of activities:

  • Design and develop low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) power distribution

systems, including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and cable schedules.

  • Assist in performing power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations using software packages such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
  • Support arc flash analysis studies in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584 standards.
  • Assist senior engineers with protective relay coordination studies and developing relay settings.
  • Produce and review electrical drawings and construction documentation, ensuring

compliance with industry codes (NEC, ANSI, IEEE) and client standards.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including mechanical, controls, and

construction management, to deliver integrated project designs.

  • Support construction and commissioning activities, including responding to RFIs and

reviewing submittals.

  • Ability to travel to customer sites for proposals, data collection and engineering

investigations or installations

  • Collaboration with other engineering disciplines to deliver engineering designs and

general engineering projects within budget and on time.

  • Develop bids and proposal documents as required to support the Engineering Manager as appropriate.
  • Technical quality control checking of the team’s work
  • Technical management of electrical vendors and sub-contractors
  • Provide project team leadership
  • Other related duties as assigned or needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology

(BSEET) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or Doctorate Degree in

Electrical Engineering (PhD)

Electrical Engineer - Job Description

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification. Professional

Engineering (PE) license preferred.

  • 2 or more years of experience in electrical design, preferably in data centers, power

generation, or other mission-critical/industrial facilities.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Familiarity with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is highly

desired.

  • Solid understanding of LV/MV power systems, electrical theory, and relevant codes.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented

attitude.

  • Candidates should have broad experience in interdisciplinary coordination on projects

preferably in the industries of data center/mission critical facilities, power generation,

electric utility, substations, food and product process, pharmaceutical, and central plant

design.

  • This position requires a high level of fluency reading plans, specifications, and related

project documents. Key competencies are initiative, communication, teamwork, and

managing for results.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
