Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced electrical engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The candidate must hold a valid UPDA Grade A certification and have strong experience in design, supervision, and coordination of electrical systems in consultancy projects.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Mandatory: UPDA Grade A certification.
• Preferred: QCDD approval/certification.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations and authority requirements in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Engineering:

• Prepare complete electrical design packages including:
• Power distribution systems
• Lighting systems
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
• Coordinate and prepare designs related to:
• Ooredoo telecom systems
• Fire Alarm (FA) systems
• Ensure all designs comply with QCS, Kahramaa, Civil Defense, and relevant standards

2. Authority Coordination:

• Handle submissions and approvals with relevant authorities, including:
• Kahramaa
• Ooredoo
• QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department)
• Respond to comments and ensure timely approvals

3. Site Supervision:

• Supervise electrical works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and other disciplines
• Conduct inspections and resolve technical issues

4. Documentation & Deliverables:

• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals
• Prepare and verify as-built drawings
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge in electrical design and systems
• Good understanding of local authority procedures
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software

Additional Notes:

• Experience in consultancy firms is a must
• Immediate availability is a plus
