Electrical Engineer – Bilingual (Mandarin/English)

Sanhua International is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Automotive team in our Auburn Hills office. We are looking for a skilled engineer to lead technical support for OEM and tier customers in automotive thermal management systems. This role involves product development, validation, and business growth in electrified vehicle components. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, innovative environment, and have a passion for innovation in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical contact for OEM and tier customers.

• Attend customer PDT meetings for key automotive components (e.g., electrical coolant/oil pumps, coolant valves, EXVs).
• Address technical and quality issues.
• Collaborate with R&D teams in China on hardware/software design, CAN/LIN communication, EMC, and control strategies.
• Optimize CAD models, conduct CFD and FEA simulations.
• Facilitate communication between customers and product teams.

Support new business acquisition.

• Analyze customer technical requirements and create compliance matrices.
• Develop technical designs and proposals.
• Manage engineering changes and cost reduction.
  • Address customer change requests and propose cost-saving initiatives.

• Oversee validation and testing.

  • Develop validation plans and execute DVP&R.
  • Conduct design of experiments and warranty fault analysis.
• Coordinate with packaging, service, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
• Stay updated through workshops, publications, and professional networks.
• Lead the design and development of thermal management components.
• Travel up to 20% (domestic and international).

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in automotive thermal systems/components (preferred).
• Experience with OEM design and release processes (preferred).
• Knowledge of DC/stepper motor controls, electronics, and CAN/LIN communication.
• MATLAB/SIMULINK experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with LabVIEW, Vehicle Spy, and MS Office.
• Proficiency in GD&T, mechanical drafting, DVP&R, DFMEA, and DRBFM (preferred).
• CAD (UGNX, CATIA, AutoCAD) and CFD simulation experience (preferred).
• Strong communication skills; Mandarin proficiency is required.
• Cross-functional teamwork experience.
• Hybrid/electric vehicle experience (desired).
• Background checks and drug testing required.
