Job Title: Electrical Engineer (DC focused- Procurement & Delivery)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Electrical Engineer to oversee the design,

procurement, and delivery of critical mechanical infrastructure. This role combines

deep technical expertise in HVAC, cooling, and mechanical systems with strong

procurement, vendor management, and project delivery skills to ensure efficient,

reliable, and cost-effective data center operations.

Key responsibilities:

Electrical Design & Technical Execution

● Contribute to the design, review, and validation of mission-critical electrical systems including substations (HV/MV), transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, and associated distribution systems.

● Support the development and optimization of redundancy architectures (N+1, 2N or equivalent).

● Perform and/or validate short-circuit studies, protection coordination studies, arc-flash analysis, load flow calculations, and harmonic assessments.

● Support the development of protection philosophy, grounding/earthing strategies, and system selectivity.

● Ensure compliance with applicable standards (including NEC, IEC, and local authority requirements).

Technical Support to Procurement

● Prepare and review technical specifications for electrical equipment.

● Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor clarifications.

● Review equipment submittals for compliance with approved design intent.

Project Support & Commissioning

● Provide technical support during installation phases to ensure alignment with approved design documentation.

● Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

● Contribute to commissioning activities (Level 1 through Level 5) under the direction of the commissioning authority.

● Support management of technical changes in accordance with Company procedures.

Operational Support

● Provide technical expertise to Operations for troubleshooting and reliability improvement.

● Contribute to lifecycle planning and performance optimization initiatives.

● Support energy efficiency improvements and system optimization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s

preferred).

• 5+ years of experience in data center electrical systems

engineering (design, construction, or operations).

• Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, and project

delivery.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, DX systems, cooling

towers, and CRAC/CRAH units.

• Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE TC9.9, and local regulatory codes.
• Experience with project management tools and procurement systems (SAP,

Oracle, etc.).

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Data Center Expertise: Data center certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD), CDCP, DCPro, or DCS).
• Sustainability & Efficiency: Knowledge of sustainability practices (LEED, ISO 50001, Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), and renewable energy integration).
• Scale Experience: Experience with hyperscale data centers, large-scale colocation facilities, or High-Voltage/Medium-Voltage (HV/MV) substation design.
