Electrical Engineer (Dhofar Power Company)

Dhofar Power Company generates and distributes electricity in southern Oman.

An Electrical Engineer in Dhofar Power Company works in the power generation and distribution system that supplies electricity across the Dhofar region (Salalah and surrounding areas).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power System Operation & Maintenance

Monitor and maintain electrical power generation systems

Ensure continuous and stable electricity supply

Inspect transformers, switchgear, and substations

Support plant operation teams in daily activities

2. Electrical Design & Troubleshooting

Diagnose faults in power distribution networks

Repair and maintain electrical equipment

Analyze system failures and implement solutions

Support upgrades of electrical infrastructure

3. Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Support

Monitor grid performance and load distribution

Ensure safe and efficient electricity transmission

Coordinate with field technicians during outages

4. Safety & Compliance

Follow strict power utility safety regulations

Ensure equipment meets Oman Electricity standards

Conduct risk assessments and safety checks

5. Project & Maintenance Coordination

Assist in shutdown planning and maintenance schedules

Work with contractors and engineering teams

Support expansion or upgrade projects

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

1–5+ years experience (utility/power sector preferred)

Knowledge of:

Power systems

Substations & transformers

Electrical protection systems

Strong problem-solving and field engineering skills

Ability to work in remote/industrial environments (Salalah region)

Pay: From RO850.000 per month
