Role Overview

Urban Grey Engineering Solutions is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary design team at the Calicut office. The candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating electrical systems for infrastructure, building, and utility projects in compliance with relevant Indian standards and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design and prepare electrical layouts for residential, commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.

Prepare power distribution systems, lighting layouts, earthing, lightning protection, and low-voltage systems.

Carry out load calculations, short-circuit calculations, cable sizing, and panel scheduling.

Develop single line diagrams (SLD), schematic drawings, and detailed BOQs.

Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, CEA regulations, KSEB norms, and local authority requirements.

Coordinate with structural, architectural, MEP, and environmental teams for integrated design delivery.

Assist in preparation of DPRs, tender documents, technical reports, and cost estimates.

Support statutory approvals and technical clarifications during tender and execution stages.

Provide design support during construction and attend coordination/site review meetings when required.

Qualification Requirements

B.Tech / B.E in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)

M.Tech in Electrical / Power Systems (Preferred)

Experience

2–6 years of experience in electrical design consultancy

Experience in infrastructure projects, STPs, commercial buildings, or public sector projects is an advantage

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)

Familiarity with electrical design software (ETAP / Dialux / Relux – preferred)

Strong knowledge of Indian electrical standards and safety practices

Ability to prepare professional design drawings and reports
