Electrical Engineering, Protection and Commissioning Engineer
6-8 Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced
Electrical Engineering, Protection and Commissioning Engineer
to support a major
international engineering consultancy
on high-profile power and transmission projects in Oman. This is a
fixed 6-month contract
, offering the chance to contribute your expertise to critical infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities:

Review design of
CTs & VTs requirements
as per approved SLDs, including sizing calculations.

Conduct detailed review of
PMD (Protection & Metering Diagram)
in line with OETC philosophy and standards.

Assess
BLD (Block Logic Diagrams)
and ensure compliance with technical requirements.

Review relay lists and verify alignment with OETC standards and related documents.

Collaborate with
CRP builders
and review scheme drawings for accuracy.

Validate
relay setting calculations
.

Represent the client during
protection testing activities
and witness performance.
-
Coordinate with OETC protection staff for approvals and testing.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s Degree (BE) in Electrical Engineering
(attested).

Minimum 10 years’ experience
in protection and commissioning.

Oman Council of Engineers Certificate
required.

Strong understanding of OETC standards, with preference for candidates with prior approval experience.
Additional Requirements (for Protection Engineer):

Level III Protection Approval

Proven capability in configuring advanced protection relays from at least
two approved relay manufacturers
