Job Summary:
The Electrical Team Lead will be responsible for leading the electrical engineering (EE) portions of their projects and helping direct the activities of other EE’s on their team. The Electrical Team Leads are an integral part of a larger cross-functional team that designs, tests, verifies, and produces a wide range of embedded system-based medical devices. By providing planning, organization, leadership, and mentorship for personnel within the group, the The Team Lead will share responsibility for business performance, meeting financial objectives, and ensuring customer and employee satisfaction. Finally, the Team Lead will assist in defining and driving both technological and functional excellence within single or multiple Minnetronix Key Technology Segments (KTS).

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership & Technical Expertise
  • Responsible for directing the activities of 4-6 team members supporting KTS projects
  • Assists the EE Manager with staffing requests for hiring and contractor needs
  • Provides guidance and support for electrical engineers, technicians, & contractors
  • Mentor and develop other electrical engineers, including prospective Team Leads
  • Expert on the particulars of electrical projects within their KTS(‘s)
  • Contributes to defining initial device-level architecture on projects, including coordinating initial design and risk burn down with other engineers
  • Strategy
  • Supports functional development strategy and capability
  • Responsible for functional execution (quality, milestones, budget) within project
  • Aides the KTS Directors / Experts in defining the long-range EE vision with the KTS(‘s)
  • Work alongside the EE Manager to identify needed tools & processes
  • Help solve critical issues after the most likely solutions have been attempted
  • Follow through on personal project responsibilities in addition to assisting others, including directly supporting high-profile, high-impact, mission-critical projects
  • Understand and document how the product operates, why decisions have been made, and what impacts those decisions carry
  • Serves as the EE point of contact for technical inquiries pertaining to their projects
  • Stakeholder Maintenance
  • Serves as the electrical engineering point of contact for potential clients in the KTS(‘s)
  • Supports the sales team as the go to expert in the technical field
  • Assists Business Development by meeting with potential new customers and providing input and support on proposals as requested
  • Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders and customers while evaluating ongoing customer needs and expectations along with technology advancements
  • Acts as a resource in proposals, regularly estimates EE activity and cost within a project
  • Instills customer confidence in selecting Minnetronix
  • Effective Delivery
  • Supports technical design reviews of team deliverables
  • Leverages existing knowledge of technology to make early decisions that save time
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are met with timeliness, budget adherence, and quality
  • Leads teams in the development of best-in-class processes and product design by continuously improving and ensuring those processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines
  • Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs
  • Ensures manufacturable, testable, and compliant designs
  • Drives adherence to standards in reviews, documentations, and designs
  • Complies with all professional departmental as well as company best practices
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed and/or defined by the EE Manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Electronics or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience required with at least 1 year of engineering leadership experience in medical device development preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors including effective communication, critical thinking and decision making, coaching, and mentoring, and promoting a sense of urgency for reaching goals
  • Proficient and skilled in customer communication, including directly interfacing with clients
  • Working knowledge of IEC 60601 for medical electrical equipment development preferred
  • Experience with all phases of new product development, from concept through commercialization preferred

Compensation and Total Rewards Package
The salary range for this position is outlined below under "Job Details" and is dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws. Beyond base salary, Minnetronix offers a competitive Total Rewards Package. We offer health, dental, vision, 401K plans, and time off programs. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual bonus program which depends on various factors, including, individual and organizational performance.
