Electrical Estimator
All Star Electric is seeking an eager, dedicated Electrical Estimator to join our family!
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
- Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
- Perform quantity take-offs and labor calculations.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier pricing.
- Develop competitive bid proposals and maintain bid schedules.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and historical cost information.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
- Assist in project handoff meetings after contract award.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of electrical estimating experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, methods, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Skills
- Experience estimating commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Knowledge of NEC codes and local regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
