Electrical & Instrumentation (I&C) CAD Designer / Drafter

Rawafid is seeking a proficient Electrical & Instrumentation (I&C) CAD Designer / Drafter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate electrical and instrumentation CAD drawings and designs, supporting various engineering and construction projects. You will work closely with engineers and project teams to translate complex technical requirements into clear, precise CAD drawings and schematics compliant with industry standards. Your expertise in CAD software and knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems will be vital in ensuring the successful execution and delivery of our projects. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop electrical single line diagrams (SLDs) in coordination with system design requirements
• Develop cable tray and conduit layout drawings for power and control systems
• Produce detailed cable routing drawings ensuring coordination with all disciplines
• Prepare electrical equipment layout and arrangement drawings
• Design lighting layout plans in compliance with applicable standards and project requirements
• Develop grounding and earthing layout drawings for plant-wide systems
• Prepare electrical schematic diagrams for distribution and control systems
• Develop instrument location plans in coordination with I&C discipline requirements
• Prepare instrument loop diagrams and associated documentation
• Develop hook-up drawings for field instruments and electrical connections
• Prepare junction box wiring diagrams and termination details
• Develop cable block diagrams for power and control cable systems
• Prepare panel layout and general arrangement (GA) drawings for electrical systems
• Perform raceway (cable tray) sizing and layout design
• Extract bill of materials (BOM) from design models and drawings
• Manage drawing revisions and ensure proper version control throughout the design lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with project CAD standards, numbering systems, and drafting procedures
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Drafting Technology
• 6 years of relevant experience in electrical and/or instrumentation & control (I&C) CAD design
• 3+ years of relevant experience in desalination, water, or oil & gas industrial projects
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Certificate is a plus
• AutoCAD Electrical certification is preferred
• Strong knowledge of EPLAN and Smart Plant Electrical/Instrumentation systems
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Good communication skills to coordinate with engineers, clients, and other project stakeholders
• Knowledge of revision control and document management practices
