Electrical Journeyman

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Journeyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various construction and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical work complies with all safety standards, building codes, and technical specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial buildings to industrial facilities, utilizing your comprehensive electrical experience to deliver high-quality results efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters and low voltage testers to perform precise electrical work.
  • Work safely on construction sites by adhering to OSHA standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), and other safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades like frame carpentry and renovation teams to coordinate tasks effectively.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools and resolve problems related to high voltage, low voltage, or control systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for compliance and project tracking.

Qualifications

  • Valid Electrical Journeyman license or equivalent certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical training.
  • Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of industrial control systems and schematics.
  • Commercial electrician experience preferred, with knowledge of construction site procedures and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals related to electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), power tools, hand tools, ohmmeters, and low/high voltage testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with NEC standards, low voltage wiring practices, and high voltage safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced renovation or construction environments.
  • Additional skills such as handyman experience or frame carpentry are a plus for versatile project support.
