Electrical Journeyman

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson to join our team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This position requires a high level of expertise in electrical work and a strong understanding of safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction, with experience in high-voltage systems and commercial/industrial electrical work. Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the location of electrical components and the required electrical work. - Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly and safely. - Install new electrical systems and components, including high-voltage equipment, in commercial and industrial settings. - Perform repairs and replacements of electrical systems and components, including troubleshooting and testing. - Collaborate with other electricians and tradespeople to ensure that all work is completed safely and to the required standards. - Develop and implement strategies for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of electrical systems. - Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment, including a voltmeter, to complete electrical tasks. - Assist in the renovation of commercial and industrial buildings, including the installation of new electrical systems and the removal of old ones. - Work at heights and in confined spaces, following all safety protocols and procedures. - Keep accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance and repairs. Qualifications: - A high school diploma or equivalent is required. - Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical work is preferred. - A commercial electrician or industrial electrician license is required. - Experience as a maintenance person or in electrical construction is an asset. - A strong understanding of electrical theory and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. - Experience working with high-voltage systems is required. - A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment. - Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and working at heights.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
