Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are hiring a skilled and dependable Residential Electrician Technician in Detroit, MI. This full-time position pays $35/hour and involves residential electrical work along with general maintenance support. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, work efficiently, and be open to handling general work orders when electrical tasks are not required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, panels, outlets, lighting, and systems in residential properties
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing tools and methods
• Ensure all work meets NEC and local building codes
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders
• Upgrade or replace outdated electrical systems and components
• Perform routine maintenance and complete general non-electrical work orders as needed (e.g., light plumbing, carpentry, drywall patching, fixture installation)
• Communicate clearly with tenants, property managers, and team members
• Keep detailed records of completed work, time, and materials used
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in residential electrical work
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance tasks (light plumbing, minor repairs, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Must have basic hand tools and reliable transportation
• Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in tight spaces
• Reliable transportation, Drivers license, able to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in property maintenance or facilities work
• Familiarity with work order systems or maintenance software

Pay: $35.00 per hour
