Electrical Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions using appropriate testing devices.
- Inspect and maintain components such as transformers, circuit breakers, control panels, and lighting systems.
- Install new electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures as per technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, national electrical codes, and regulations (e.g., Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Regulations).
- Maintain accurate documentation of all electrical maintenance and repair activities.
DG Operations & Maintenance:
- Operate and monitor DG sets, including starting, shutting down, and adjusting controls to ensure a continuous and reliable power supply.
- Conduct daily operational checks to ensure DG units are in healthy standby/automatic mode.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel engines and generator sets.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults specific to DG systems, including alternators and control panels (Deep Sea, ComAp, etc.).
- Monitor performance indicators and conduct performance tests to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
General Duties:
- Collaborate with other engineering and operations teams to minimize operational disruptions.
- Manage and maintain inventory of electrical and DG spare parts and tools.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and breakdowns.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or ITI certification in Electrical Engineering/Electrician trade is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and servicing diesel generators.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components.
- Hands-on experience with DG set troubleshooting, maintenance, and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Licenses/Certifications (Preferred): Valid electrical supervisory license or relevant certifications.
