Electrical & Mechanical Technician

About this Position:

The Electrical and Mechanical Technician is responsible for supporting the testing, inspection, and performance verification of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a range of commercial projects. Working alongside engineers and site teams, the role focuses on ensuring building systems are operating efficiently, identifying faults, and assisting with system optimisation and commissioning activities. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with a strong technical background and an interest in both mechanical and electrical building services. This is a second-shift position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry out testing and performance checks on HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Inspect equipment including air handling units, pumps, fan coils, and ventilation systems.
• Assist with system set-up, commissioning, and operational checks.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, airflow, temperature, and system performance issues.
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Record system readings, findings, and corrective actions accurately.
• Support the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with project requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain testing equipment and tools in good working order.
• Travel to project sites as required.

Experience Required:

• Experience within HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or building services environments.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
• Previous commissioning, servicing, or testing experience would be advantageous.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
