Job Type: Full-time • On-site (with limited flexibility after training)This is a full-time, primarily on-site position in Fountain Hills, AZ. Candidates must be willing to work in our office.

About Us:CR Engineers, Inc. (CRE) is a woman-owned electrical engineering consulting firm based in Fountain Hills, Arizona. For over 40 years, we have provided specialized electrical design services for transportation, aviation, building, recreational/sports lighting, and water/wastewater facilities.We are seeking an Electrical Designer with strong AutoCAD and power distribution skills to support our engineers in producing high-quality construction documents and specifications.

Responsibilities

Assist electrical engineers with the design of:

• Low-voltage power distribution systems
• Interior and exterior lighting systems
• Grounding and bonding for buildings and equipment
• Produce AutoCAD drawings and details for construction documents
• Prepare and edit technical specifications
• Perform photometric calculations and support lighting design tasks
• Assist with construction cost estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Perform field investigations and site visits to gather existing conditions information
• Support construction phase services, including:
• Reviewing product submittals
• Responding to contractor requests for information (RFIs)
• Supporting engineers during construction administration

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience, focused on power distribution and lighting systems
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and IES standards
• Working knowledge of COMcheck and applicable energy codes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with Bluebeam for drawing review and markup
• Strong critical thinking, multi-tasking, and written/verbal communication skills

Preferred (Plus, not required):

• Experience with lighting design software (e.g., AGi32, Visual, etc.)
• Previous experience on aviation, transportation, or municipal projects

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License (required)
• Ability to occasionally travel for field investigations and site visits
• Ability to work on-site in Fountain Hills, AZ (hybrid/flexible scheduling may be considered after training and performance are established)
• Prefer current Arizona residents; no relocation assistance is available
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $28.00 – $40.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
