Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Project Designer to join our award-winning full-service firm located in Livingston, NJ. This is a full-time, in-person position requiring candidates to live within driving distance of the office. Candidates must be valid to work in the USA and possess all necessary credentials.

Experience Requirements

• Bachelor of Science from an accredited school of engineering
• 1 to 3 years of experience in similar role
• Knowledge of electrical design related to commercial, industrial, multifamily, and retail buildings
• Experience with conducting demand load calculations to determine incoming electrical service size and designing distribution panels
• Understanding of electrical circuiting design and providing power to all necessary equipment
• Comprehension of sizing and selecting emergency and standby generators
• Knowledge of designing lighting systems including but not limited to selecting light fixtures, locating light fixtures on lighting plan, conducting photometric calculations, and daylighting zone design
• Working under a Senior Electrical Engineer and receiving direction on completing project tasks
• Understanding of National Electric Code (NEC) to create electrical construction documents
• Required to be experienced in using software such as AutoCAD MEP and basic Microsoft Office
• Experience with Revit is not required, but is highly preferred
• Candidates should have experience with reviewing construction administration documents including shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs)
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Good writing and oral communication skills
