We’re Hiring: Purchasing Manager / Project Engineer

NuWave Electric is growing, and we’re looking for a Purchasing Manager / Project Engineer to strengthen the bridge between our office, field, and vendors. This role is critical to keeping projects moving, materials on site, and budgets under control.

This is not a clerical purchasing role. We’re looking for someone who understands construction, thinks ahead, and takes ownership.

What You’ll Do

Purchasing & Material Management

• Procure electrical materials based on approved drawings, submittals, and budgets
• Compare pricing, availability, and lead times to make smart purchasing decisions
• Issue and track purchase orders with complete documentation
• Coordinate deliveries to match field schedules and reduce downtime
• Monitor material budgets and flag over‑ordering or scope issues early
• Maintain organized PO, quote, and invoice records

Project Engineering & Coordination

• Review plans, specs, and submittals for constructability
• Assist PMs with submittals, ASIs, and equipment cut sheets
• Coordinate with foremen to resolve material or scope challenges
• Track long‑lead items and proactively manage risk
• Help prevent issues from “falling through the cracks” on active projects

Team & Process Improvement

• Work closely with field leadership as a support partner
• Improve purchasing systems and workflows
• Build strong vendor relationships that benefit the company long‑term

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years experience in electrical construction, purchasing, or project engineering
• Strong understanding of electrical materials and construction drawings
• Highly organized with excellent follow‑through
• Confident communicator with vendors and field teams
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience with electrical submittals and ASIs
• Familiarity with commercial or multifamily construction
• Experience managing material budgets

Responsibilities

• Receive on the job paid training and obtain continual skill building and mentoring necessary for being successful in your role
• Coordination & performing daily activities for Office, Admin, & Sales
• Creating & Developing new Spreadsheets as needed
• Job Costing Accounting
• Tool Management
• Collaborate with our team of dedicated craftsmen, administrators, and coworkers that take great pride in their work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
