Electrical QA/QC Inspector - DFW Airport

Candidates must have hands-on inspection experience in Electrical or Mechanical systems within commercial or industrial construction projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for construction quality assurance inspection, surveillance and documentation on multiple concurrent construction projects. The position serves as the on-site technical representative for inspection of contractor construction activities, daily coordination with contractor quality control and recommending acceptance of completed work based on the specifications.

POSITION FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications, and monitor construction activities for compliance with the Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP).
  • Inspect electrical system installations including power distribution, panels, switchgear, lighting systems, and associated infrastructure to ensure compliance with contract documents and approved submittals.
  • Review and evaluate electrical as-built drawings, redlines, and contractor submittals for accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform inspections within active operational facilities environments while coordinating with stakeholders to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Monitor contractor site performance and adherence to quality requirements.
  • Prepare and submit Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) and complete appropriate inspection checklists for work under oversight.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in monitoring the Contractor’s Quality Control (CQC) program implementation.
  • Interface with Project Management (PM) and Construction Management (CM) teams on quality-related matters.
  • Identify and document quality-related issues, including preparation of Issue Reports or Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Verify compliance with FAR 139 requirements, when applicable.
  • Notify the QA Coordinator of issues in real time.
  • Inspect materials for compliance with contract documents, approved submittals, and field directives.
  • Provide and upload progress photographs as required.
  • Execute and submit Inspector Daily Reports at the end of each shift and attach them to weekly timesheets in Unifier.
  • Participate in periodic audits of the contractor’s quality control program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of construction quality field inspection procedures and applicable specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in commercial or industrial facilities environments.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in performing assigned tasks.
  • Effective communication skills with project team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work varying weekly schedules that may change based on project needs.
  • Ability to take direction, execute tasks efficiently, and provide feedback to enhance overall quality processes.

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
