Role Summary
The Electrical Revit BIM Designer is responsible for producing accurate, fabrication-ready electrical BIM models that directly support efficient construction, prefabrication, and field installation. This role plays a key part in reducing clashes, minimizing rework, and improving coordination between electrical and other trades. The position works closely with Project Foremen, Project Managers, the Director of VDC, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, constructible BIM deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed, fabrication-ready electrical Revit models for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and specialty systems.
- Coordinate electrical models with other disciplines to proactively identify and resolve clashes, reducing RFIs, change orders, and field conflicts.
- Execute clash detection, document conflicts clearly, and support coordination efforts through resolution.
- Produce construction and field installation layouts, including plans, sections, details, and schedules derived from BIM models.
- Generate spool sheets and fabrication documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cut lists, to support prefabrication workflows.
- Provide accurate layout points and model data for field layout technologies, including Trimble RTS.
- Create, manage, and maintain Revit families, blocks, and drafting standards to ensure model consistency and quality.
- Support project teams with BIM-related tasks as needed to meet project objectives and schedules.
