Hiring: Senior Electrical Technician (O&M Maintenance)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Technician to join our O&M Maintenance team in the UAE. The role involves advanced electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, while supporting supervisors and mentoring junior technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Operations

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair HV/MV/LV equipment including switchgears, circuit breakers, transformers, VFDs, substations, UPS, battery chargers, and LV control panels.
• Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Execute daily maintenance activities as per approved schedules and work orders.
• Support supervisors and specialists during shutdowns, emergencies, and 24×7 on-call duties.

Technical & Execution

• Read and interpret as-built drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams with strong troubleshooting capability.
• Actively participate in new projects, upgrades, and retrofit works.
• Ensure proper use, custody, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Supervise contractor activities on-site and provide performance feedback.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Strictly follow PTW, HSE, and company IMS procedures.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Conduct inspections and report abnormalities such as hot spots or loose connections.
• Ensure testing and measuring instruments are calibrated and fit for use.

Reporting & Systems

• Update work orders, service reports, and timesheets daily using digital systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
• Support KPI achievement including schedule adherence, MTTR, and First-Time-Right metrics.

Teamwork & Development

• Provide guidance and technical support to junior technicians.
• Participate in training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, specialists, and contractors.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting:
• HV & MV switchgears
• MV/LV VFDs and substations
• UPS, battery chargers
• LV control panels
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and systems.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.
