Job Summary:

The Site Engineer - Electrical is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on construction sites. This role involves direct supervision of electrical work, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Site Engineer acts as a technical point of contact on-site, coordinating between the design team, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision & Coordination

· Supervise daily electrical installation activities on-site.

· Coordinate with other construction disciplines to ensure timely and efficient work execution.

· Ensure work is performed according to approved shop drawings, method statements, and safety procedures.

· Manage and monitor subcontractors and electrical technicians.

2. Quality Control & Safety

· Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to project specifications.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and best practices.

· Report and address safety hazards or non-compliance issues immediately.

· Maintain safety documentation and participate in safety meetings.

3. Technical Support & Problem-Solving

· Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

· Provide technical guidance to electricians and subcontractors.

· Troubleshoot electrical installation issues and coordinate solutions.

· Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.

4. Material Management

· Verify and inspect incoming electrical materials and equipment.

· Ensure materials used meet project specifications and quality standards.

· Track inventory and report shortages or damages.

5. Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain accurate records of work progress, daily reports, and site activities.

· Prepare inspection and test reports.

· Report project progress, delays, and issues to the project management team.

· Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation.

6. Compliance & Coordination

· Ensure all electrical works comply with local codes, standards, and project specifications.

· Coordinate with the design team for clarifications or design changes.

· Attend site meetings and communicate instructions effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

· Experience: 3-7 years of experience in electrical installation and site supervision within construction projects.

Technical Knowledge:

· Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, power distribution, lighting, and control systems.

· Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (IEC, NEC, local codes).

· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

Skills:

· Good leadership and team coordination abilities.

· Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Certifications: Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, CSCS) and electrical licenses are preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

· Primarily site-based with frequent site visits.

· Capable of working in construction environments, often in challenging conditions.

· Ability to work extended hours to meet project deadlines
