Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee electrical construction projects from start to finish. This pivotal role involves managing onsite electrical teams, coordinating field operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and delivering high-quality workmanship on all electrical installations.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction management experience, a strong background in electrical systems, exceptional leadership abilities, and experience in commercial electrical projects.
We are a Local 363 USWU shop, offering benefits (such as health insurance, pension, annuity, 401(k), etc.). Our shop is located on Staten Island, and most job sites are in Manhattan, but you may be asked to travel to other NYC boroughs and NJ if necessary. Typically work 8-hour day shifts Monday-Friday, with possibility of overtime or weekend work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all electrical construction activities on-site, coordinating with project managers, foremen, and GC's to ensure seamless execution.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems.
- Manage procurement and resource allocation for electrical materials and labor.
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and conduct regular safety audits to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
- Monitor quality control processes, inspecting work for compliance with specifications, schematics, electrical codes and industry standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and foremen on change orders and project schedules to keep projects on track.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mid-sized electrical projects (ranging from $50k-$2.5M) with a focus on commercial spaces, retail stores, office spaces, and restaurants.
- Strong supervisory background with management experience leading diverse onsite teams.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management practices.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical system design documentation.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to construction safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members.
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
