Job Title: ELV Technician (Extra Low Voltage Technician)
- Installation & Commissioning: Install and configure ELV systems, including security alarms, CCTV, access control systems, intercoms, fire alarms, and structured cabling according to design specifications.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on ELV systems to ensure their proper functioning. Resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure minimal downtime.
- System Integration: Assist in the integration of various ELV systems with other building management or automation systems, ensuring proper operation and compatibility.
- Testing & Calibration: Conduct system testing, commissioning, and calibration to ensure all equipment is functioning according to industry standards and customer requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installations, service requests, system configurations, and maintenance schedules. Report any major faults or risks to the supervisor.
- Customer Support: Provide customer support and technical guidance on the use and operation of ELV systems.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all relevant safety standards and codes of practice when working with electrical systems, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure efficient project completion within deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical diploma or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with ELV systems, including CCTV, security, fire alarm, PA systems, and building management systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in installing and troubleshooting ELV systems and related components.
- Familiarity with wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of networking, IP-based systems, and system integration.
- Familiar with using testing tools (multimeter, cable testers, etc.) and diagnostic software.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in ELV systems, such as fire alarm systems or security system installation, are a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-oriented approach with a professional attitude.
