Job Overview
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities in power plant or industrial environments. The role includes supporting routine operations, outage activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards. Nuclear experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair work on plant equipment.
- Assist in the execution of electrical work packages and procedures as per the maintenance schedule.
- Support routine operations as well as planned and unplanned outage activities.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
- Conduct testing and calibration of electrical systems and components.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and plant regulations.
- Collaborate with mechanical, operations, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, test results, and equipment history.
- Report any abnormalities or potential risks to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist in training and guiding junior technicians when required.
Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Relevant certificates and training records related to the Scope of Work (SoW) must be provided (if applicable).
Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in electrical maintenance and leadership roles within a nuclear power plant.
- with a minimum of 7+ years of experience; this time, candidates should have at least 3–5 years of experience in either nuclear or power plant environments.
Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, motors, switchgear, transformers, and control panels.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in industrial equipment.
- Experience with testing, calibration, and electrical measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of safety standards, preventive maintenance practices, and industry procedures.
Soft Skills
- Ability to work in a team under supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work efficiently during outages and under time-sensitive conditions.
English Proficiency
- English Level B2 – Able to engage in conversations, understand technical information, and read documents and procedures proficiently.
Salary Range
- Non-TCN: 6,000 – 8,000 AED
- TCN: 12,000 – 15,000 AED
