An Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer job involves ensuring electrical systems (HV/MV/LV, substations, controls) work safely and per specification by performing tests (relay, functional, integration), troubleshooting, documenting results, managing site activities, and coordinating teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing & Validation: Conduct pre-commissioning, functional, primary, and secondary tests on equipment (Switchgear, Power transformers, Capacitor Banks, Protective relays, UPS, chargers)..,
- System Integration: Verify proper integration of electrical systems with SCADA, control, and automation systems, optimizing performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues during site activities, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Documentation: Prepare commissioning plans, test reports, "as-built" drawings, and ensure compliance records are accurate.
- Site Management: Oversee site activities, coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Safety & Standards: Ensure all work adheres to project specifications, safety standards, and local regulations (e.g., TAQA-T,TAQA-D, DEWA, UAE codes).
- Optimization: Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions for peak performance.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (up to 220kV), protection, and control systems.
- Proficiency with testing equipment, MS Office, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, and potentially travel extensively.
- Engineer capable of operating basic test equipment’s (CMC 356,CPC 100, and other secondary and primary equipment’s).
- Engineer with TAQA-T/TAQA-D Competency and UAE Driving License preferred.
