About the Role

In this multidisciplinary role, you will collaborate with scientists, mechanical engineers, optical engineers, and system integration specialists to design, implement, and optimize electrical control systems, data acquisition, and automation workflows for advanced EUV light sources.

You will work from detailed schematics, CAD models, or basic verbal descriptions, transforming concepts into robust, manufacturable systems capable of continuous 24/7 industrial operation. This is a highly hands-on position—beyond design, you will be directly involved in wiring, hardware integration, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of prototype and production systems.

The work is fast-paced and agile, with projects often moving quickly from concept to deployed product—making this an ideal role for someone who thrives in multidisciplinary, rapid-prototyping environments.

Reporting Line

This positions reports to the Director, Light Sources.

Your Role

• Designing electrical subsystems such as power distribution, control electronics, sensors, motion systems, high-voltage supplies, and safety interlocks.
• Developing PLC, microcontroller, or PC-based automation solutions.
• Integrating lasers, vacuum hardware, motion stages, and detectors into unified control architectures.
• Creating data acquisition systems for process monitoring, performance analysis, and closed-loop control.
• Assemble and commission prototypes, support laboratory experiments, and adapt automation systems to evolving R&D requirements.
• Designing for reliability, maintainability, and manufacturability to enable a smooth transition from R&D prototypes to production systems.

Qualifications (Required)

• 3+ years of Electrical/Automation engineering experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Experience with EE/AE design software, Labview
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent technical, conceptual, problem solving, and analytical skills

Qualifications (Bonus to Have)

• Master's Degree
• Semiconductor manufacturing industry experience

Position Details

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000-$150,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and EUV Tech's location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the respective role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the following factors: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
