Job Title: Electrician
Location: Richmond, VA 23219 (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 4 Months (Possible Extension or Conversion)

Pay Rate: $35/hour on W2 (Without Benefits)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (On-Call Rotation Required)

Job Summary

The Electrician supports facility operations through inspection, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in office and occasional warehouse environments. This role performs troubleshooting, minor electrical project work, generator and switchgear support, and daily PMs while ensuring safety compliance. Success requires Journeyman-level capability, strong technical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced facilities environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment across assigned facilities.
• Oversee general operation and maintenance of building electrical and lighting systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and replace motors, compressors, wiring, valves, switches, gauges, pumps, condensers, cores, and pipes.
• Perform preventive maintenance, testing, and component replacements following established procedures.
• Review maintenance history to support proactive inspections and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Complete daily PMs and work orders efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain safe operation of all equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide reliable and responsive service to internal facility customers.
• Explain technical information clearly and support standardized facility processes.
• Assist with minor electrical project work and occasional warehouse-related tasks.

Physical Demands

• Lift, move, and carry 50+ lbs.
• Perform climbing, walking, standing, and other physical tasks for extended periods.
• Work in environments with mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and varying facility conditions.
• Ability to safely handle tools, equipment, and materials.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Diploma.
• Journeyman Electrician Certification (Required).
• Master Electrician License as required by local code.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience working independently on electrical tasks.
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot using technical expertise and judgment.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience working with work order systems.
• Additional maintenance or mechanical skills.
• Warehouse electrical support experience.
• Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship.
