Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems
- Service electrical systems in gaming areas, hotels, restaurants, kitchens, entertainment venues, and employee facilities
- Diagnose electrical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize operational downtime
- Perform preventive maintenance on panels, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and related equipment
- Respond to emergency electrical calls during assigned shifts or on-call rotations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, federal, and Tribal electrical codes and regulations
- Coordinate work with other maintenance trades, contractors, and departments
- Support electrical needs for gaming machines, surveillance systems, and life safety systems as assigned
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs using the casino's work order system
- Follow all OSHA, NFPA, and casino safety policies and procedures
- Maintain professionalism in guest-facing areas and respect Tribal culture and sovereignty
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred or required depending on jurisdiction
- Ability to obtain and maintain required Tribal, state, or local electrical licenses and permits
- OSHA safety certification preferred
- Experience or certification in NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance preferred
- Low-voltage, fire alarm, or generator certification a plus
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or vocational/technical training program preferred
- Ongoing training related to electrical codes, safety, and commercial electrical systems desirable
- Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred
- Experience in hospitality, casino, hotel, healthcare, or large public facilities strongly preferred
- Experience working in occupied buildings with minimal disruption to guests and operations
- Familiarity with emergency response and on-call duties in a 24/7 environment
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing electrical systems throughout the Tribal Casino and associated properties. This position supports continuous casino, hotel, restaurant, entertainment, and back-of-house operations while ensuring compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and Tribal policies. The Electrician plays a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable power and lighting in a 24/7 operational environment.
