The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in industrial and oil & gas environments. This role ensures all electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company safety policies.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including motors, pumps, generators, switchgear, control panels, and associated wiring.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure system reliability and optimal performance.
  • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Conduct electrical testing, calibration, and verification using industry-standard tools and instruments.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes and regulations, including NEC, OSHA, and other governing standards.
  • Follow established safety procedures, participate in job safety analyses (JSAs), and comply with permit-to-work requirements.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and recommend effective, cost-conscious repair solutions.
  • Coordinate and communicate with supervisors, engineers, project managers, and other trades to support project execution and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational electrical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician; oil and gas experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid electrician license or certification (Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and components.
  • Proficient with electrical hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, and applicable industry standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
