Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installation and troubleshooting processes
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical tasks on construction sites or renovation projects
- Test electrical circuits with tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to diagnose issues accurately
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems in industrial settings
- Maintain low voltage and high voltage electrical systems while adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure
- Follow all safety guidelines related to NEC standards and local regulations during installation and repairs
- Assist with schematic reading for complex electrical systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial environments is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites, renovations, or similar projects is essential
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical diagrams is required
- Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems along with NEC compliance standards
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation applications is a plus
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools for efficient work
- Previous handyman or frame carpentry experience can be beneficial for versatile project support
- Ability to operate ohmmeters and other testing equipment accurately during troubleshooting processes
