Job description:
We are currently seeking Level 1 (no experience), Level 2 and Level 3 Electrician Apprentices to join Automated Controls! Automated Controls is a local family owned and operated commercial electrical contractor specializing in low voltage controls.
L1: Apprentice
Pay Range: $20–$22 per hour
Overview:
Entry-level position for those starting in the electrical trade. Focuses on developing safe work habits, learning basic electrical systems, and gaining familiarity with tools, materials, and jobsite procedures. Apprentices are expected to be dependable, punctual, and eager to learn.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic labor tasks such as running and labeling wires, installations, and tool maintenance.
- Learn conduit bending, wire sizing, and proper material handling.
- Operate lifts and equipment safely under supervision.
- Help organize workstations and understand different materials.
- Begin learning material takeoff and inventory.
- Support conduit installation (EMT, Rigid, PVC) and learn safety protocols.
- Begin reading wire diagrams and basic drawings.
- Complete OSHA 10
- Demonstrates Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and punctuality.
- Understands safety requirements
Intermediate Apprentice (L2)
Pay Range: $22–$26 per hour
Electricians at this level work more independently, applying growing technical knowledge and accuracy on the job. Focus is on strengthening efficiency, organization, and understanding of electrical systems and codes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform routing, labeling, and pulling of wires based on drawings.
- Assist with conduit layouts, device installations, and project coordination.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics with limited supervision.
- Manage time effectively and complete assigned sections of work.
- Apply safety procedures consistently.
- Demonstrates good work quality and efficiency.
- Be trusted to work alone with minimal supervision.
- Understands basic troubleshooting and testing (multimeter, megger, PVA)
- Demonstrates Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and punctuality.
- Demonstrates all qualities of E1’s.
and

Pay Range: $26–$30 per hour
Preparing for Journeyman’s License. Takes on leadership of small crews, manages parts of projects, and performs complex installations. Focus is on supervision, technical mastery, and specialized skill development.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead small crews and coordinate materials and jobsite tasks.
- Ensure safety and code compliance on assigned work.
- Perform quality checks and communicate with supervisors and customers.
- Read and execute technical drawings accurately.
- Develop expertise in specialized areas such as renewable systems or low voltage controls.
- Demonstrates Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and punctuality.

Qualifications:
- Mechanically able
- Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
Requirements:
- TDLR Electrical Apprentice License (or Journeyman's)
