Electrician (Power Station Based)

The company is currently expanding and wishes to appoint an Electrician to work across both Ballylumford and Kilroot Power Stations. We invite applications from time-served electricians required for the installation and maintenance of large industrial and commercial projects.

Job Description

Contract: Full time / Permanent

Working Hours: 37.5 hours

Salary: AttractiveSalarydependent on experience and skillset

Reporting To: Contracts Manager

Location: Ballylumford and Kilroot Power Station

This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrician at Scotts Electrical Services. The Electrician will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation of electrical systems and equipment across the power station to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.

Essential Criteria

· Recognised electrical trade qualification and current electrical licence.

· Proven experience working as an electrician in an industrial, power generation, utilities, or heavy industry environment.

· Knowledge of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, switchgear, motors, transformers, and control systems.

· Experience in fault finding, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs.

· Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures including isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), permits to work, and risk assessments.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

· Experience working in safety-critical environments with a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

· Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary maintenance team.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Willingness to work shifts, overtime, call-outs, and planned outage/shutdown periods as required.

Desirable Criteria

· Previous experience within a power station, energy, or utility sector.

· Experience with instrumentation or control systems.

· Confined space, working at heights, or other relevant industrial safety
