The role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electro-Mechanical Specialist to join our team for a prestigious hydropower project based in Lower Kohistan, KPK Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electro-mechanical systems related to hydropower projects, with substantial experience in the design, review, installation, and commissioning of large-scale hydropower developments.
  • Lead the design and review of electro-mechanical systems for hydropower projects, including turbines, generators, governors, excitation systems, and associated auxiliary systems.
  • Review and coordinate detailed engineering designs, technical specifications, and equipment layouts in line with project requirements and international standards.
  • Evaluate proposals, technical submittals, and shop drawings for electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Support procurement processes, including preparation of technical specifications and participation in technical evaluations.
  • Provide technical oversight during manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to performance, safety, reliability, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, environmental, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation as required.
With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in electro-mechanical design and implementation for hydropower projects, with proven experience on large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of turbines, generators, control systems, and hydropower plant auxiliaries.
  • Experience in installation supervision and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
