Job Description: Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Manager

Position Overview:-

The E-Waste Manager oversees operational, technical, environmental, and compliance functions of an electronic waste collection, dismantling, and recycling facility. This role ensures regulatory compliance, safe handling of hazardous components, workforce management, and optimization of material recovery processes in line with EPR and CPCB/SPCB guidelines.

Required Qualifications:-

B.E./B.Tech in Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering.

OR Master’s/Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Sustainability

Diploma or Certification in Waste Management/EHS/Hazardous Waste Handling (preferred)

Experience Requirements :-

Minimum 3–7 years in e-waste recycling, hazardous waste management, solid waste operations, or industrial waste management

Experience with mechanical/electronic material recovery processes is preferred

Hands-on experience with SPCB/CPCB compliance and audits

Experience handling workforce in industrial/waste handling environments

Key Roles & Responsibilities:-

1. Operations & Facility Management

Oversee day-to-day operations of e-waste collection, storage, dismantling, and recycling.

Ensure proper segregation, dismantling, and storage of components as per CPCB standards.

Maintain equipment, safety systems, and operational infrastructure.

Monitor inventory of incoming e-waste and processed fractions.

2. Technical Knowledge of Treatment & Recovery Processes (Added as requested)

Possess strong knowledge of various e-waste treatment technologies, including dismantling, shredding, mechanical sorting, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and advanced material recovery methods.

Identify and understand recoverable metals and materials from different e-waste streams such as PCBs, batteries, cables, and ICT equipment (e.g., copper, aluminum, gold, silver, palladium, rare earths, plastics).

Evaluate and optimize recovery efficiency for metals, plastics, and reusable components.

Work with recyclers/vendors to ensure maximum resource recovery and minimal landfill disposal.

3. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with E-Waste (Management) Rules 2022 and amendments.

Maintain all required legal documents, manifests, gate passes, and SPCB/CPCB reporting.

Oversee EPR documentation, channelization records, and producer coordination.

Implement ISO 9001, 14001, and ISO 45001 standards in facility operations.

4. Health, Safety & Environmental Management

Implement EHS guidelines for handling hazardous components such as CRTs, PCBs, batteries, mercury lamps, etc.

Conduct training on SOPs and PPE usage for workers.

Perform routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills.

Ensure environmentally safe disposal of residual hazardous fractions.

5. Workforce & Vendor Management

Supervise dismantling teams, logistic staff, and supporting workforce.

Coordinate with authorized recyclers, PROs, OEMs, and transporters.

Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with SOPs.

6. Financial & Inventory Oversight

Track recovery output, revenue generation from recyclable fractions, and storage optimization.

Monitor operational costs, workforce utilization, and equipment performance.

Verify and maintain accounts related to transporters, recyclers, and vendors.

7. Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with government authorities, clients, industries, PROs, and external auditors.

Support inspections, audits, and sustainability assessments.

Provide technical inputs for proposals, tenders, and project reports.

Additional training in recycling technologies or material recovery is an advantage

Technical Skills :-

Strong knowledge of e-waste rules, EPR requirements, and hazardous waste management

Expertise in treatment technologies and material recovery

Understanding of dismantling, sorting, shredding, smelting, hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes

Proficiency in CPCB/SPCB documentation and reporting

Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards

Experience with logistics, tracking, and inventory management

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹50,778.77 per month
