Role Overview
We are looking URGENTLY for a detail-oriented Senior Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the full development cycle of our hardware products, including architecture definition, schematic capture, PCB layout, and rigorous hardware validation. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and has a passion for building robust, high-performance electronics.
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture: Define hardware requirements and select key components (MCUs, sensors, actuators, power regulators).
- Schematic & Layout: Design multi-layer PCBs using industry-standard EDA tools like Altium and KiCad, ensuring signal integrity and proper thermal management.
- Prototyping & Bring-up: Perform initial board bring-up, debugging, and hardware-level troubleshooting using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
- Competitive Analysis: Perform teardowns and technical benchmarking of competitor products to identify design trends, cost-saving opportunities, and performance gaps.
- Reverse Engineering: Analyze existing hardware to reconstruct schematics, identify component functions, and understand system logic when original documentation is unavailable.
- Failure & Obsolescence Analysis: Lead the reverse engineering of obsolete or failing components to develop modern, compatible replacements.
- Design for Excellence (DFX): Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), test (DFT), and cost (DFC).
- Compliance & Certification: Prepare designs for EMI/EMC testing and ensure compliance with relevant standards (CE, FCC, UL, etc.).
- Documentation: Maintain clear design documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly drawings, and test reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in electronics hardware design and development
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
- Circuit Design: Deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and high-speed interfaces.
- Embedded Systems: Experience interfacing with microcontrollers (ARM, ESP32, STM32) and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
- PCB Deconstruction: Proven ability to map out PCB traces and identify integrated circuit (IC) functions from physical boards.
- Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in using lab tools (X-ray, microscopic inspection, and logic analyzers) to "work backward" from a finished product to a design file.
- Hands-on Lab Skills: Proficient in soldering (SMD components) and using standard lab equipment for validation.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex hardware issues, from signal noise to power distribution failures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL).
- Knowledge of firmware development in C/C++ to assist in hardware/software integration.
- Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, Cellular).
- Familiarity with simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice).
- Experience in IoT devices
