What you will do as Senior Electrical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

You will work in a multidisciplinary, cross-border team, contributing to projects both on site and from the home base. In addition to project delivery, you actively contribute to the optimisation of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within your field.

Main responsibilities

• Manage and deliver all electrical work packages across multiple projects, from scope definition through design, documentation, and execution;
• Design and engineer LV, MV and HV power supply and distribution systems, including storage, redundancy, and uninterruptible power supplies, in line with project and client requirements;
• Safeguard data centre security by developing effective and innovative solutions for fire protection, intrusion detection, and access control systems;
• Ensure high-quality and timely information flow to contractors, vendors and regulatory authorities, including specifications, reports, and tender documentation;
• Support project management through cost reviews, risk management, testing and commissioning, vendor evaluation, and representation of Haskoning during factory and site acceptance activities.

As our new Design Manager (MCF/ Data Centres) you will become part of the team Mission Critical Facilities. Our global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for our datacentre clients. We provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to our clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies. Our team consists of colleagues with all kinds of different expertise. For example, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology. Together we use our knowledge and expertise to develop integrated designs for Data Centres.

What you bring

You combine strong people skills with an initiative-taking, entrepreneurial mindset and a clear focus on results. You operate effectively in international project environments, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and approach complex technical challenges with a structured, solution-oriented, and resilient attitude. Besides, you possess the following:

• A bachelor’s and/ or master’s degree in electrical engineering, providing the technical foundation required for high-complexity design and engineering decisions;
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering, including demonstrable experience in the design and engineering of data centre projects, ensuring expertise in mission-critical environments;
• Proven experience with advanced electrical engineering studies and calculations, such as short-circuit studies, discrimination studies, and LPS risk assessments, to guarantee system safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance;
• A license to design (electrical specialisation) and Strong knowledge of international and local design and construction standards, codes, regulations and industry best practices, enabling compliant, efficient and robust electrical solutions within the KSA project context; ;
• Fluency in English is required, with Arabic language skills considered a strong advantage for effective collaboration with local stakeholders.
