Elementary 4th/5th grade teacher

Duties

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
  • Incorporate learning technology and educational tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation.
  • Provide individualized support and tutoring to students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or requiring early intervention.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives to promote best practices in early childhood education.
  • Mentor new teachers or interns, sharing expertise in classroom experience, special education strategies, and teaching physical education when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Proven classroom experience working with children in elementary grades, especially 4th or 5th grade.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and working with students on standardized testing.
  • Familiarity with learning technology platforms and library services for educational purposes.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or special needs through specialized teaching strategies or early intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Demonstrated skills in behavior management, childcare support, tutoring, and classroom management techniques.

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
