Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This role involves developing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to support each child's educational journey.

Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy, math, and physical education.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Mentor students by providing guidance, support, and encouragement in their academic pursuits.
  • Assess student performance through standardized testing, tutoring sessions, and regular evaluations to track progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student development, classroom activities, and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and share best practices for teaching methodologies.
  • Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning, including library services and resources for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; certification in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting; private school experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
  • Proficiency in classroom management techniques to maintain discipline while fostering a nurturing atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and the ability to implement individualized instruction for students with diverse needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
  • Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading educational materials, and utilizing learning technology effectively.
  • Familiarity with Montessori methods or other innovative teaching approaches is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33.75 per week
