Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary English and Math Teacher to inspire young learners and foster their academic growth. This paid position offers the opportunity to design engaging lesson plans, support diverse student needs, and create a positive classroom environment—whether working virtually or in a hybrid setting. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for early childhood education, strong communication skills, and experience working with children to help students develop foundational skills in literacy and mathematics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for English language arts and mathematics at the elementary level
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation, curiosity, and confidence in young learners
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and student engagement
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation
- Provide individualized tutoring and support for students with diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements or autism spectrum disorders
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student success and implement effective behavior management strategies
Experience
- Prior classroom experience teaching elementary English and math is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education techniques
- Experience working with children in early childhood education or childhood development settings
- Familiarity with teaching physical education, library services, or working with individuals with autism is a plus
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing learning environment
- Strong communication skills for mentoring students, engaging families, and collaborating within a team
- Experience with private school settings or Montessori methods is advantageous
