QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Required minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid SC Special Education teaching certification

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly instructional services either in person at a mutually agreed-upon location or virtually, based on the student’s needs and family preference.
  • Deliver instruction that is equivalent to a minimum of 55 minutes per school day, with the specific schedule agreed upon by the classroom teacher and the student’s family.
  • Plan, prepare, and implement lessons aligned to grade-level standards and the student’s current curriculum.
  • Collaborate regularly with the classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction, pacing, and expectations.
  • Adapt instruction as needed to meet the student’s medical, academic, and developmental needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide updates to the classroom teacher and school as required.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of instructional time, lesson plans, and student participation.
  • Comply with all district policies related to confidentiality, instructional quality, and student safety.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Communicate consistently with the classroom teacher, family, and designated school staff regarding scheduling, progress, and instructional needs.
  • Participate in meetings related to the student’s instructional plan when requested.

Schedule:

  • Until the end of the 2025 - 2026 academic school year
